Loren R. Hatfield, Jr.
Augusta, GA – Loren R. Hatfield, Jr. entered into rest Tuesday, October 11,, 2016, at age 79 in Augusta, GA.
Mr. Hatfield was born in Ava, Missouri, to parents Loren R. Hatfield, Sr. and Eula Mae “Boots” Goodwin Hatfield. As an infant, he came to Augusta with his parents where he lived and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County and the University of Georgia, earning a BBA degree, and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Being musically talented, he played in Georgia and Richmond bands where he was a drum major.
Mr. Hatfield was an insurance adjuster for many years for Crawford and Company in Macon and Dublin and F.O. Smith in Augusta. He retired from Quebecor World. He was a life-long member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Family members include son: “Ren” Loren R. Hatfield, III (Vanessa); daughter: Claire Hatfield Murphy (Bob); the mother of his children: Jacqueline Powell Morton; grandchildren: Sara Lynne, Charlie, Jackie, Brittnie, Christopher, Stormi; 6 great grandchildren; sister: Helen Crawford. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Lynne Hatfield Reese; his sister: Carolyn Jean Dickerson; and his parents.
A private graveside memorial service will be held Monday, October 17th at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Thurman Norville officiating.
