Konstantinos "Charlie" Kyros, 86, of Worcester, died Wednesday, October 12th in St. Vincent Hospital with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vasiliki (Gatzogiannis) Kyros; two daughters, Eleni "Helen" Kyros with whom he lived and Sotiria "Terrie" Pantos and her husband, Gregory all of Worcester; two sons, Vasilios Kyros and his wife, Sotiria "Tina" of Little Compton, RI, and Harry Kyros and his wife, Julie of Holden; a brother, Thomas Kyros and his wife, Nia of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Mia, Prokopios and Nicole Pantos, Vasilki, Melina, Thomas, Zachary and Isabella Kyros; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Gorantzi, Northern Epirus, Greece the son of Haralambos and Sotiria (Telios) Kyros and immigrated to Worcester in 1956. He had been employed for 29 years as a baker for Table Talk Pie retiring in 1984 at the age of 54. Charlie was a long time member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and the Order of AHEPA. After retirement he could be found helping his children at their businesses. His love of breakfast made him well known at many local restaurants. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His funeral is Saturday, October 15th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, October 14th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
