Marjorie Eleanor Floyd passed peacefully in Mystic on Saturday October 8, 2016 with family by her side. She was born in New London on December 29, 1924 the daughter of Laurence and Eleanor Williams of Stonington. She was happily raised on the family farm, Laurence S. Williams & Sons Dairy, on top of Quoketaug Hill in Old Mystic. Marjorie attended Stonington Schools and worked at the telephone company. She also served as the Town of Stonington Register of Voters. She married the love of her life, Robert M. Floyd on May 6, 1945 celebrating 70 happy years of being together before his death on May 2, 2015.

She and Robert were Colonial Period Reenactors with the Quoketaug Rangers where they taught many about the tools and techniques of the era making friends wherever they went. She was a member of the Mystic River Historical Society, Sturbridge Village, served as an interpreter at Mystic Seaport and was a direct descendant of the founders of the Town of Stonington. She was especially fond of birds and could name an uncanny number of birds by their song.
