WORCESTER: Brian Michael Hennessy 68, of Worcester, died Friday, Oct. 7 at his home.
He was born in Northampton, Ma., the son of the late Donal B. and Mary M. (Wood) Hennessy and later graduated from Leicester High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He traveled extensively and spent many winters in Florida. He worked for several area construction companies before retiring due to illness.
Brian was an avid reader with a great sense of humor and an incredible memory for details making him a great storyteller. He loved to swim and enjoyed playing his guitar. He had many life long friendships always taking the time to send a card and in true Irish tradition he never visited "with one arm as long as the other." He truly lived his life his way.
He leaves his sisters Julianne Hennessy of Oakham and Madelyn Hennessy of Cherry Valley, nephews George and Charlie Morales and a niece Leah Morales of Leicester. Many cousins, and friends and a large extended family including his dear friends John Nadeski and Mary Ellen Flury. Brian will be fondly remembered as "Grampa Roach" by Javon, Kelsey, Kelisha, Christian, Ikey and his very special little Whitney. The family would like to give special thanks to the VNA of Worcester, especially Shakari for her devoted care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester.
