Born in Gary, Indiana, came to Anderson in 1939. Graduated Anderson High School in 1944.
He served in the U. S. Army in 11th Airborne from 1944-1946. Was in Japan at World War II ending.-- entering with MacArthur.
He was a skillful sketch artist, awarded a scholarship to John Herron School of Art.
He was active in amateur sports as a young man, particularly boxing. He worked in sales and security. He worked security for Delco Remy, Hoosier Park, Anderson Public Library.
He was affiliated with the V. F. W. and American Legion. past memberships with Jaycees and Sertoma Club and Y.M.C.A.
Bob was a deacon at Chesterfield Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughters, Sue Anne (Terry) Cogswell; Patricia (Scott) Gove; Barbara (Harold) Curtis, son, Robert Hall, Jr. brothers, William Hall of Seattle; John "Jack" (Noreida) Hall and James (Elinor) Hall all of Anderson; twelve grandchildren, Angela Hall; Ryan Goodin, Robin Page; Trent (Julie), Adam (Kim) and Preston (Shauna) Gove; Shane and Scott Curtis; Shiloh and Melissa Hall, Misty Hawks and Nathan Michael; 21 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, in-laws, Jody Fernung, Eddie (Rosie) Garrett, Donna (Courtney) Mainord, Carol (Dalas) Miller and Linda (Dean) Orman and longtime childhood friend, Margie Reed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Alma Hall; son, Michael C. Hall and grandsons, Robert Lee Hall, Bryce Evan Hall and daughter-in-law, Toni Hall and stepson, Jerry Ankrom; grandson, Jeremy Ankrom.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 13 2016 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Ned Clark of Chesterfield Christian Church officiating and military rites following at the funeral home.
A private burial of ashes will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery at a later time
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
