Mary C. Shea, R.N., 76, a lifelong resident of Natick, died October 9, 2016 at Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham.
Born in Natick, she was the daughter of W. Joseph Shea, former Natick Police Chief, and Alice (McManus) Shea.
She was a graduate of St. Patrick School in Natick, Holy Cross Academy in Brookline, 1959, and Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing, now MetroWest Medical Center, 1963.
After graduation, she was employed by MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, where she worked in the Nursery and on the Maternity Floor for many years. Later she was employed as a school nurse in the Framingham School system.
Pre-deceased by her parents, Mary leaves one sister, Kathleen F. Hayes of Framingham; one nephew, Joseph O. Hayes of San Francisco, CA; three nieces, Alison DeCagna of Natick, Emily Hayes of San Francisco, CA, and Caroline Hayes of Konstanz Germany; four grandnephews, Christopher Hayes of San Francisco, CA, Michael Chapman and Enzo DeCagna of Natick and Neil Adler of Konstanz Germany, her cousin Rosie Quinn of Framingham, her goddaughter Carol Quinn of Framingham; and many cousins.
Mary was known for her generosity of spirit and her unconditional love for her nieces, nephews, and grandnephews that have left a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed and loved forever.
Visiting hours will take place Thursday, October 13, 2016 at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common from 4 -7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will take place Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10 A.M.., at St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.
