Elizabeth “Bette” F. Hayes (Price) passed away peacefully at the Winchester Nursing Center. She was 91. A life-long Medford resident, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and the late Mary (Cunningham) Price. Bette was a proud life-long Medford resident who enjoyed the company of family and friends at her Alexander Avenue home. She enjoyed reading and followed local sports. She was a big fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and the Boston Bruins and was still a big fan of Bobby Orr.
The beloved wife of the late W. Richard Hayes, she was a devoted mother of Peggy McDonald and her husband John of Needham, Paul Hayes and his partner Patricia McCoy of Tewksbury, Maureen Pelusi and her husband Tom of Fremont, NH, Judy Giliberti and her husband Peter of Westford, Robert Hayes and his partner Elaine McLean of Boston. She is also lovingly survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The dear sister of Bob Price of Maine, the late Marilyn Hughes, Helen Ryan and Warren Price she was the best friend of Ruth Healy of Medford.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, October 11th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 – 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
