Barbara Louise (Aird) Scott, age 87, of N. Smithfield, RI, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Barbara was the wife of the late Donald Francis Scott, and the daughter of the late Elmer and Trenna (Stowell) Aird. She was born in Yarmouth, ME and was a graduate of Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth, ME. She worked for various employers during her life, including French Shriner shoe factory, Components’ electronics, and Kendall Weaving. Although she lived most of her married life in Brockton, MA. Barbara and her husband retired to Naples, ME until Donald’s death. She then joined her daughters in RI.
She is survived by five daughters: Susan Scott, of Plymouth MA, Ana Jayne Scott of Cottonwood, AZ, Karen Heath of Cumberland, RI, Shelley Young of Yardley, PA and Marsha Silvia of Woonsocket, RI, as well as 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, MA on Thursday, October 13, 2016, from 10-11 am, followed by a service celebrating Barbara’s life at 11 am. The interment will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton following the service. The family also wishes to thank the amazing nurses, social workers, therapists, and nursing assistants of St Antoine’s Residence for taking loving care of Barbara during the last years of her life.
