Whelan, Bridget M. formerly of Burlington, age 53, passed away peacefully October 1, 2016, after a long illness. Daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Carnazza) Whelan. Beloved longtime girlfriend of Michael Craine of NH. Cherished sister of Susan Mellen and her husband John of Wilmington, Patrick Whelan and his wife Louise of TX, Thomas Whelan and his wife Grace of Orange, Brian Whelan of Haverhill, and Anthony Whelan and his wife Wendy of FL. Loving aunt of Shawn Whelan, Rachel Mellen, Connor Whelan and wife Chisa, Brian Whelan Jr., Thomas Whelan and wife Jeanette, Daniel Whelan and wife Kristin, Nicholas, Christopher and Michael Whelan, and Scott Mellen. Also survived by several grandnieces and nephews. Bridget will fondly be remembered for her quick wit, great sense of humor, and her enjoyment of gatherings with family and friends. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant with Pitney Bowes and later at Wyeth Biopharma. A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington, Saturday, October 8th, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and visit with the family prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment services will be private.
