Sunnie Samaniego, 44, of Ventura, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 with her family and friends by her side.
Sunnie was born March 3, 1972 in Ventura and was a lifetime Ventura resident. She attended Holy Cross School, St. Bonaventura High School, and Ventura College. She was an administrative assistant for 16 years.
Sunnie enjoyed camping, and was an avid sports fan, especially football - her favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed watching baseball games. She especially watched and supported her godchildren playing sports.
Sunnie is survived by her father and mother, Leo and Kyra Samaniego of Ventura; life parter Gus Simental of Ventura; Uncle Jack Samaniego and his wife Sally of Ventura; Aunt Cruz Samaniego of Ojai; godchildren Parker Velasquez, Isacc Hernandez, Aaliyah Hernandez; cousins Lorraine Ceja, Cookie Magana, Patti Winans, Tish Velasquez, Natasha Hernandez; and her very special friend, her doggy DJ.
A Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2016, and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, both at the San Buenaventura Mission, 211 East Main Street, Ventura.
Sunnie was entrusted to the care of the family owned Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 757 East Main Street, Ventura. 643-8623.
