SPECIAL NOTICE - SPECIAL NOTICE ---- Rev. Goldie Thompson's funeral has been RESCHEDULED due to the hurricane. The service will now be at 2:00 p.m. MONDAY, Oct 10, at Hughes Cemetery.
THOMPSON - Rev. Goldie M. Thompson, 94, passed away October 1, 2016 at her residence.
She was a minister of the Gospel since 1962 and travelled extensively as an evangelist with her husband, the late Rev. Nathan Thompson to whom she was married for 60 years before his passing in 2002.
She raised 19 children and was known as "Mom" by many others. She always had a kind word for everyone and praised God in all circumstances.
She was the last of 14 children born to Henry & Katie Peyatte of Diggins, WV.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Parrish; three grandchildren, Kristy Ingram (Johnny), Jesse Tucker (Becca) and Nikole Parrish; three great grandchildren, Christopher Ingram (Mindy), Zachary Ingram and Nathan Tucker.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. MONDAY, October 10, at Hughes Cemetery in Yulee.
