Valerie (Schmidt) King, 68, of Mendon, died Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Michael T. King for the past 33 years.
Born in New York City on September 23, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Bernadette R. (Fox) Schmidt and niece of the late Marie Doran.
Mrs. King grew up in New York City and graduated from St. Barnabas High School in the Bronx. She and her husband had resided in Medford moving to Bellingham 1986 and Mendon in 1998.
Mrs. King had worked as administrative assistant at the Milford VNA for 10 years until her recent retirement and formerly at the Cornerstone Christian Academy where she greatly enjoyed her work with both Staff and Students.
She had been an active member of the Medway Community Church for over 25 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Susan King of Boulder, Colorado and her son Matthew King of Dorchester.
She is survived by a sister, Pamela Harper of Clearwater, Florida and was the sister of the late Lee Dain.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Medway Community Church, 193 Main Street in Medway on Saturday, October 8 at 10 a.m.
