Mary E. Ayer (Joyce) age 83 of Canton passed away October 1st at Season’s Hospice in Milton surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, she graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School in Jamaica Plain. Mary previously worked as the Assistant Treasurer for the Volunteer Cooperative Bank in Boston. She has lived in Canton for 48 years where she was a member of the Community Club of Canton, a volunteer for the Canton Veteran’s Service Department and a volunteer for the St. John School Foundation. Mary enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and going to Terban Health & Fitness Center. Beloved wife of Charles R. Mother of Susan Grafton and her husband Glen of Bridgewater and Robert Ayer and his wife Darcie of Canton. Grandmother of Jack, Matthew and Abigail Grafton. Sister of Geraldine Hurley and her husband Michael of S. Dennis and the late Barbara McDonald. Aunt of Christine Clinton-Sinai of Dedham, Stephen Clinton of Forestdale and John McDonald of Braintree. Visiting hours the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Tuesday morning at 10.
