Mrs. Geneveive M. Weaver, 93, of the Bowens Mill community, died Friday, September 30, 2016, at her residence.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Pine Ridge Fellowship in the Bowens Mill community.
Mrs. Weaver was born January 2, 1923, in Galway, New York, to the late Michael & Catherine Maryzak. Her parents immigrated from Poland in 1906 and met each other as they traveled to Ellis Island. They began their life together and eventually acquired their own farm. Following her education, Mrs. Weaver worked as a secretary for General Electric. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. Together with her husband, she moved to Ben Hill County in 2013 when his health began to fail. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Ben Hill County Senior Citizens Center. She was also an avid reader and gardener and she loved to walk as well as listen to music and dance.
She is survived by her son, Paul Weaver of the Bowens Mill Community; a granddaughter, Rebecca Weaver of Brussels, Belgium; two great-grandsons; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, her husband of 68 years, Joseph John Weaver, preceded her in death in 2013. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
