Mary T. (Dowd) Gentili, 90, of New Bedford died Thursday September 29, 2016 at Sippican Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Mariano E. "Muddy" Gentili with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Patrick and Selina (Green) Dowd, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Gentili was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
She was a member of the Y.M.C.A.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Sippican Healthcare Center for the excellent care given to Mary.
Survivors include her son, Michael Gentili and his wife Linda of Berlin, NH; a daughter, Cathy Ann Gendron and her husband Ron of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Sheri Costa, Erin Gendron-deMelo, Kristy Letendre and Sean Gendron; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Letendre, Makayla Letendre, Emmelia Letendre, Ashley Holodinski and Derick Costa; a great-great-granddaughter, Alivia Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Chandler.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 8:30 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, New Bedford at 9:30 AM.
