Beatrice (Barboza) Hurley, 88, of Westport, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Hurley.
Mrs. Hurley was born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Carlos M. and Rosa B. (Carvalho) Barboza and had resided in Westport for most of her life. Prior to her retirement in 1972, she worked as an assembler for Raytheon. She was a recipient of the Marian Medal and a communicant of St. George Church, Westport where she was very active in all of the church activities.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Daniel F. Hurley and his wife Robin of Westport and Michael A. Hurley of Westport; her 4 daughters: Marie A. Sylvia and Rose M. Correira, both of Springfield, MO, Susan G. Spillane of Walpole, MA and Patricia A. Maynard of Loudon, TN; her sister: Agnes McPhetridge-Nelson of Billings, MO; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Kathleen Hurley, great grandmother of the late Austin & Tyler Cordeiro and sister of the late Charles, James, Leonel, Gilbert, John and Annibal Barboza, Palmira Costa and Delphine Cardoza.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, October 8, 2016 at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be private.
