Obituary

PALMER – Bernadette L. (Gay) Bleau, 86, of the Village of Thorndike in Palmer, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, September 24, 2016. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born at home in Thorndike on October 31, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Ernest C. and Aurelia M. (Daudelin) Gay and was a lifelong resident of the Village of Thorndike. She previously worked at the former Alamac Corporation in Bondsville and Ludlow. She was a communicant of the former Saint Anne Church in Three Rivers. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Armand J. Bleau who was Called Home on January 14, 1993. They were married on November 27, 1947 at the former Saint Anne Church in Three Rivers and were blessed with over 45 years of happiness together. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving son, Mark A. Bleau who was Called Home on August 18, 2016; and her dear sister, Irene Hebert. She leaves her two loving sons, Bruce P. Bleau and his wife, Carolyn, of Elgin, SC and Neil D. Bleau and his wife, Katherine, of Palmer; her loving daughter-in-law, Karen E. Bleau of Springfield; her three dear brothers, Edward, Francis and Johnny; and her four dear sisters, Lorraine, Genevieve, Anita and Paulette. In addition, Bernadette leaves her numerous cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Bleau and Gay families. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Committal Service for Bernadette and her husband, Armand who served his country in the United States Army during World War II and will also have United States Army Military Honors, on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109 in Saint Stephen Section of the cemetery.
