Derek B. Hall 28, of East Bridgewater, died unexpectedly on Monday September 26.
Born in Dorchester and raised in East Bridgewater he was the beloved son of Bernard and Deborah (Conner) Hall.
He was a graduate of East Bridgewater High, Class of 2006 and had attended Massasoit Community College. He was a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Brockton, where he was chosen to represent the Brockton Chapter at the National Conference in Atlanta. He was also the founder of the “White Team Dynasty” a local summer basketball league.
For many years Derek had worked as shop manager for Union Auto of Brockton and had served as an automobile safety inspector.
He loved playing basketball, was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams and had enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, but what he treasured most was his many family vacations. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his dancing and how he loved to laugh!
In addition to his loving parents Bernie and Debbie he is survived by his daughter Kali Olivia Hall of Brockton, his brother Chris Hall and his wife Nichole of Avon, his grandparents Helen Plyler and her husband Curtis of Abington and Winifred (Conner) Knight of Marshfield and his niece Ivy Elizabeth Hall. He is also survived by his companion Tawana Bourne of Brockton, his aunts and uncles Bobby and Kim Hall, Tommy and Cindy Hall and Janice Cox all of Abington, Donna and Geoff Loomis of Marshfield and Doreen and Sean Reilly of Kingston as well as many cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Erin Hall, his grandparents Bernard Hall, John Conner and Luke Knight, and his uncles John Conner, William Cox and Joseph Hall.
His services will be held Saturday October 1 at 10:30 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 AM in St. John Church, East Bridgewater. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Friday September 30 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
