Donald L. Carpenter, 90, of Litchfield, NH passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, NH surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 25, 1926 in Malden, MA a son of the late Levergne W. and Ruth M. (Lindgren) Carpenter. Donald was a lifelong resident of Malden, MA until moving to NH to be with his family. He was a US Army veteran, having served in Germany. Donald was a production clerk for General Electric for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He also was a softball coach for the Eastside AA.
He is survived by his six children, Diane Jones of Litchfield, NH, Kathryn Carpenter of Clayton, NC, Steven Carpenter of Center Barnstead, NH, Ronald Carpenter of Mashpee, MA, David Carpenter of Malden, MA and James Carpenter of Concord, NH, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy F. (Habblitz) Carpenter.
Calling hours were held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 3 - 6 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry with cremation to follow.
