Thomas R. Jacobs, 86, of Lawrence passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Holy Family Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Tom was born on June 5th, 1930 in Haverhill. Son of the late James and Veronica (Butler) Jacobs. Thomas was educated in St. Augustine’s School in Andover and was a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church in Lawrence. He worked for many years at the Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
Husband of the late Rhonda (Kennedy) Jacobs.
He is survived by his sons Thomas and James of Lawrence, John and his wife Elisa of Methuen. His daughters Veronica and husband Roger Jackson, Joyce and husband Tom Cross all of Florida, Michelle and husband John Oberlin of Ohio, Suzanne and husband Ray Stevens of Haverhill. As well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his children William, Kathleen and Michael Jacobs and their Mother the late Rita Jacobs Jacques. He was also predeceased by his siblings Robert, William, Daniel, John, James and Suzanne Jacobs.
Tom will forever be remembered by his generosity, his sense of humor and his striking resemblance of Jolly Ole Saint Nick.
In his final weeks Tom shared many family memories with his closest grandson William Cormier & his favorite niece Dorothy "Dee" Jacobs O'Neil both of Haverhill.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Mary's Church, Lawrence, MA.
