Armand J. Boutin, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sept. 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 28, 1932. Armand was a son of the late Albert C. and Alvina (Labreque) Boutin. He attended Assumption School and was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Prior to graduating from Cathedral High School, Armand joined the US Marine Corps. After graduating, Armand was called up for the Korean War and served honorably obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon discharge, Armand worked locally while earning a BA in Accounting from Western New England College. He later worked as Controller for Springfield and Providence Hospitals and then for over 25 years as a self employed Hospital Financial Consultant before he retired in 1995. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Elder Council #69; the Chicopee Senior Center and the United Society of West Springfield. He is predeceased by his wife Janet L (Fortune) Boutin who passed away on April 27, 2011. He leaves 4 sons Daniel and his wife Melva of West Springfield, Christopher and his wife Diane of Gloucester, Armand Jr. and his wife Robin of S. Windsor, CT and Lawrence and his wife Paula of Chicopee; 2 sisters, Pauline Davies and Claire Petrone; 5 grandchildren, Sean, Katelyn, Anna, Jonathan and Victoria. He also leaves over 50 nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 4 brothers, Albert Jr., Gilbert, George and Ernest and by 4 sisters, Alvina Senecal, Hilda Lozier Stopera, Loretta Tubbs and Theresa Misner. Armand was a very loving and unifying family man. He organized numerous family reunions and parties. Armand enjoyed traveling and taking cruises around the world. He enjoyed playing cards especially Pinochle. He will be sadly missed by all. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 from 4-8 pm at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Sept. 30th at 10 a.m. in Grise Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the non profit charity of one’s choice.
