Mario Gatta, age 72, of Woburn formerly of Boston´s North End, passed away August 5th in his home following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Pinto) Gatta. Born in Abruzzi, Italy, he was the son of the late Michael and Flecia (Gentile) Gatta.
Mr. Gatta was a retired construction laborer. He worked with stone, brick, cement and was also an excellent carpenter. He was a former member of the Boston Laborers Union. He was also a member of the Portugese - American Club in Woburn.
Mr. Gatta enjoyed working with his hands, wether making wine at his home or working in his garden or helping friends and family with home projects.
In addition to his beloved wife Maria. He is survived by his daughters, Grace and Jennifer Gatta both of Woburn. He is also survived by his brother John Gatta of Woburn and is predeceased by his brothers Antonio and Aquiliano Gatta.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant Woburn, Monday at 8 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 9 AM. Realtives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn
