Worcester - Peter P. Rondeau, 96, died on Sunday, September 25th in the Meadows of Leicester after a period of declining health.
Pete was born in Worcester, son of Joseph and Mary (Roberts) Rondeau. He is predeceased by his siblings, Florence Chabot, Marion Rondeau and Rose Newman. Mr. Rondeau worked for many years with the City of Worcester as a caretaker in Parks Department.
Mr. Rondeau proudly served the United States during World War II in the Marine Corps. Pete belonged to many veteran organizations, including the VFW Gallant Post where he was a former Commander, the VFW Rochdale Post, the Oxford American Legion Post 58, the Marine Corps League of Worcester and the Am Vets of Charlton. He spent much of his life advocating to get help and assistance for veterans that were in need.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 29th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main Street Worcester. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 in the funeral home before the funeral.
