Obituary

Pauline Fletcher Duckworth, 92, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Pruitt Health Ocilla, in Ocilla, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Paul Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6 to 9, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Duckworth was born November 26, 1923, in Tifton, Georgia to the late James Milton Fletcher and Martha Lou Paulk Lott. She had lived in the community since 1940 and graduated from Mystic High School. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and sew. Mrs. Duckworth worked for Golden Cleaners doing alterations for their customers and she also made clothes. She was a member of the Quilters Guild and a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years: E. L. Duckworth of Ocilla; two daughters: Carol Sue & Doug Bowen of Tifton and Bonnie Gentry of Mystic; a son: James & Doris Dyess of Ocilla; two stepchildren: Carline & Hubert Crider of Elberton and Eddie Duckworth of Fitzgerald; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Larry Dyess and a stepson: Edward Duckworth.
