Obituary

Jean Arciero, of Medford died Friday, September 23 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Velardo. She married her husband and settled in Medford to raise her family. Jean was a happy and wonderful person who loved life. If she wasn’t watching her favorite soap opera, General Hospital, she could be found playing bingo or at the casino. She was a devout Catholic and avid church goer. A phenomenal cook, she was especially well known for her meat balls.

Jean was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Arciero. She was the devoted mother to her children, Mary Ann Arciero of Saugus, Christopher Arciero and his wife Sandra of Methuen, Janice Boghos and her husband Raymond of Wakefield. Jean was also the loving grandmother of Jeffrey and Darren Arciero and Kristin and Jake Calo. She was the loving great grandmother to her six great grandchildren Justin, Michael, Gianna, Jackie, Declan, and Isabella. Jean is survived by her brother, Leo Velardo of Salem, NH.

Visiting hours for Jean will be held Wednesday, September 28th from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, September 29th at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, Malden, at 10AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, contribution may be sent in Jean’s name to the Resident Council at Glenridge Nursing Care Center, 120 Murray St, Medford, MA, 02155
