Chester Lewis Porter, 90, of Anderson, died September 20, 2016 at Community Northview Care Center.
He was born on March 6, 1926 in Anderson, the son of Oscar and Maude Belle (Garrison) Porter. He was employed by Delco Remy Division of General Motors, retiring in 1975 and also served in the US Army. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and going to Lake Webster.
He is survived by 6 children: Linda Robinett , Diana Swisher, Chester ( wife Myrna) Porter, Johnathon (wife Lynn) Porter, Charles (girlfriend Melody) Porter and Beverly ( Paula) Porter . grandchildren; Dennis, Mary, Tom, Aaron, Ben, Josh, James, Shaia, Melissa, Ruth, Peggy Jo, Phillip, David, and Jessie Danielle, and TJ; and many great grandchildren, a sister, Norma Lambert and several nieces and nephews.
Chester was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Porter, 2 sons James and Paul Porter, and grandchildren Donald, David and Amanda, a 2 son in laws Joe and Charles.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 3 pm. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
