Thomas M. "Tommy" Kavanagh, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Thursday, September 22, 2016. He was 57 years old.
Tommy was born in Boston on December 31, 1958, a son of Edward J. Kavanagh and Annette V. (Davis) Kavanagh. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Tommy has been working on the Boston waterfront as a Longshoreman for the past couple of years and is a member of the International Longshoreman's Union Local # 799.
Tommy is the beloved son of retired Boston Fire Department Captain Edward J. Kavanagh and Annette V. (Davis) Kavanagh. He is the devoted brother of Patricia Millerick and her husband Kevin, Sheila Kavanagh and the late Edward D. Kavanagh. He is the loving uncle to Chuck, Ryan, Patrick and Thomas, USMC. He is the loving friend of Jeanette Prendable. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tommy's Funeral on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
