Boyd Sr., William Albert “Bill”, 89, passed away September 19, 2016 in Louisville.
He was born to Albert A. and Mary Margaret (Hope) Boyd on September 22, 1926.
Bill was a Christian by faith, a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII; was a picker with the Almost Bluegrass Band, and he enjoyed passing the love of music and instruments to children.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; a son, Michael, and a brother, Bob Boyd.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: William Albert Boyd Jr. (June), Frances Denise Dotson (Dave), Jeanie Marie McMakin, James D. Boyd (Karen), David Boyd (Stephanie); 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Francis Waller, and Catherine Johnson.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 11:00AM at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington. Visitation is Sunday 4:00-8:00PM.
