FALL RIVER – Edmund Rego, age 94 of Fall River and previously of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, Sep. 22, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Botelho) Rego and the son of the late Fermino and Guilhermina (Nunes) Rego. Prior to retiring, Ed worked as a Firefighter for the Fall River Fire Department and was a US Army Air Corp Veteran of WW II. He loved building furniture, fishing and playing golf.
Survivors include his two daughters: Marie Roy (husband Ed) of Urbana, IL and Carol Herman (husband Bruce) of River Edge, NJ; his grandchildren: Nicole Kashtan (husband Daniel), Adam Herman, and Bailie Roy; and several nieces & nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Glenn Roy and the brother of the late Joseph Rego & Eileen Ferreira.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. John of God Church, Somerset. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. The family will receive guests beginning at 9:45 A.M. at the entrance of church. www.rogersfuneral.com.
