FALL RIVER – Silvana (Vital) Almeida, age 79 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Sep. 22, 2016 at home with her family by her side. Born in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel & Emerlinda (Lopes) Vital and the beloved wife of the late David Almeida.
She is survived by her children: Floriano DeAlmeida, Edward DeAlmeida (wife Natalie), Luciana (DeAlmeida) Pacheco (husband Elidio), Gil DeAlmeida (wife Ana), & David DeAlmeida Jr. (wife Sabrina) all of Fall River; 2 brothers João & Manuel Vital both of São Miguel; a sister: Diamentina Almeida of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria Carvalho.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday at 9:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
