Lawrence – Clara N. (Barban) Reyes, 87 of Lawrence, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Lawrence General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Armando J. Reyes. Clara was born in Las Tunas, Cuba on August 12, 1929, the daughter of Lorenzo and Juana (Sanchez) Barban. She was educated in Cuba. She worked as a stitcher with Noymer Manufacturing Co in Neponset, MA for over 18 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish. She was a member of The Sodality of the Sacred Heart. She loved crafts, puzzles, coloring and painting.
Clara will be deeply missed by her 3 children, Lucy Cardenas and her husband, Sergio, of Quincy, Father Jorge A. Reyes, OSA of Waterford, NY, and Ana M. Cardenas and her husband, Ivan, of Methuen; 5 grandchildren, Melissa, Jessica, Emely, Sofia, and David; 2 great grandchildren, Lillian and Olivia; her sister, Yolanda Barban of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Clara’s life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4-8 PM at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, 205 Hampshire Street, Lawrence. Her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
