Obituary

Quincy – Walter F. Bryan, 73, currently of East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully, September 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Quincy, the son of the late Walter L. “Cap” and Josephine (Cullen) Bryan, he is survived by his beloved wife Margaret “Peggy” (Rowe) and his devoted children; James Bryan of East Bridgewater, Megan Glynn and husband Garry of Norwell, and Kate Collins and husband Daniel of Hanover. He was the adored grandfather of Alexandra, Jake, Maxwell, Bryan, Madison, Ronan, John, Gweneth, and the late Cole Bryan and cherished brother of Anne Marie Ellis and the late Richard Bryan and Mary Dawicki.
Walter was a graduate of North Quincy High School, Quincy Junior College, UMass Boston, and Suffolk University, and had served in the Army. He was a retired Supervisor of the U.S. Postal Service. A longtime YMCA member, he enjoyed watching sports, especially football, and ran in many road races and marathons, including Boston; but his greatest joy was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, watching their games, and hearing their latest exploits. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. The quiet man.
