LEICESTER: James A. Reidy, Jr. 90, of King St. Ext., died Monday, Sept. 19 at Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton.
His wife of 60 years, Mary F. (Barry) Reidy died in 2014. He leaves his sons Michael Reidy of Ft. Pierce, Fl., James Reidy and his wife Joan of Leicester, Mark Reidy and his wife Darleen of Marriottsville, Md., Thomas Reidy of Leicester and John Reidy of Oxford, his daughter Kathleen Grady and her husband Richard of Marlborough, a sister Dorothy Hunt of Hopkinton, 8 grand children, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Jack Reidy and a sister Rose Hipp.
Jim was a security guard for 30 years at Wyman Gordon Co. in Grafton before retiring in 1986.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of James A. and Alice (Hebert) Reidy,Sr. and later served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a longtime member of the Rochdale VFW Post 7556, and St. Aloysius-St. Jude Parish. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and spending time with his family.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 23 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
