Mary “Margaret” Woodard Phillips, 69, of Tifton passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Barry George and the Rev. Keith Burch officiating. Mrs. Phillips will be laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens in Tifton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Carl McDuffie, Joe McDuffie, Andy Thompson, Bobby Blanchard, Neal Wiley, Levi Webb, Steve Webb and Joe Griner will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Woodard and Chris Overstreet.
Born October 17, 1946, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Woodard and Mary Iona Yawn Woodard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell M. “Phil” Phillips; one daughter, Angela “Angie” Jones; two brothers, Carl Woodard and Thomas Woodard; and a sister-in-law, Barbie Woodard. She retired from Harvey’s Supermarket, where she worked for 25 years. She attended Sonrise Chapel in Tifton.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Michelle Phillips of Enigma; one daughter and son-in-law, Selina and David Burney of Tifton; one son-in-law, Ronnie Jones of Tifton; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Harris Rowe, Brenda and Joe Drawdy, all of Tifton and Jeanette and Narce Avery of Sylvester; one brother, Curtis Woodard of Omega; a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Woodard of Tifton; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Christy, Ryan, Jordan, Aubrey, Alex, Lindsey and Chance, Austin and Kayla, David Cole, and McKenzie and Kelly; seven great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Raina Grace, Annah Leigh, Brinleigh, Everleigh, Olivia and Ryleigh; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Sondra and Neal Wiley and Wanda and Steve Webb; four brothers-in-law, James Phillips, Lewis Phillips, Burl Phillips and Derek Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews, who she loved like her own children.
