Donald H. Courtemanche, Jr. 50, of Johnston, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 09, 2016.
He is survived by his son, Jason R. Grossi, one sister, Robin Turchetta and one brother, Keith Courtemanche, a great neice Catarena Calise; a nephew Joseph Turchetta & a niece; Ashley Turchetta and her children Robert, Raymond & Liliana. He was the son of the late Donald H. Courtemanche, Sr and Ettie M. Courtemanche.
Donny was a skilled finish carpenter, having worked thirty years in the trade. He also was employed by the Town of Johnston in the parks department for many years. He had many hobbies and interests including scuba diving, hiking, camping, fishing, and a love of cooking and pig roasts to mention a few. Donny was an avid skier and made day and sometimes weekend trips with cousins and friends to Killington and Mount Snow, Vermont, two of his favorites. He also enjoyed astronomy, geography and world history often reciting his knowledge for those who would listen. He was generous with his money when times were good and never lived for tomorrow. Donny was a loyal brother, cousin and friend to many, and will be sadly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 26 at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston.
