Obituary


Norma Jean Gaynor (Macdonald) of Canton, MA passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was 76 years old.
Devoted wife of 55 years of the late Michael M. Gaynor, who predeceased her by nine months. Loving mother of Danna Gaynor Muir and her husband David W. Muir of Bridgewater, MA and Wendy M. Devine and her husband David J. Devine of Taunton, MA. Proud grandmother of David M. and Kelly A. Devine and David M. and Michael J. Muir. Daughter of the late Alexander and Mildred K. Macdonald (Boone). Sister of Alexander Daniel Macdonald of Rockland, MA. The family is grateful to her sister-in-law Barbara Gaynor of Holbrook, MA and dear family friend John J. Connolly of Canton, MA. She is also survived by an extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Born in Boston, MA and raised in Randolph, MA, Norma Jean graduated from Randolph High School in 1957. She was employed as the first female dispatcher for B & T Transportation in Boston, MA where she worked for 13 years. She continued her career as an administrator for Interpolymer Corporation in Canton, MA for 23 years. She was a member of the Canton Town Democratic Committee for several years attending the state democratic conventions during that time. She was also appointed to the Canton Bicentennial Planning and Hazardous Waste Management Study Committees. She enjoyed travelling to Las Vegas with her husband and friends and serving on several democratic candidates’ re-election committees.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday at the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman St, Canton, MA from 4 – 8 p.m. A private burial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norma’s memory to Doctors Without Borders USA, P.O. Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030
