Obituary

Peter Nicholas Burdych, 61, of Brewster, passed away peacefully at home in the company of his loving wife Nancy, in the early morning hours of September 16, 2016.
Born in 1955 to Hugo and Melva Burdych, Peter relocated from Plainsfield, NJ, to Harwichport, MA in 1970. After graduating from Harwich High School in 1974, Peter enlisted in the United States Air Force and remained active in the military until his retirement in 1997. Peter was an active member of the community, taking part in various local bike clubs, and serving as Post Commander at the Chatham VFW.
Peter is survived by his wife Nancy Burdych, sons Peter Burdych Jr., Jeremiah Goodnow, Jesse Burdych, and Paul (PJ) Rogers, sister Karen Reynolds; brother Fred Syers, and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family, including his beloved companion Mercedes. Peter was preceded in death by his wife Michelle Burdych in April 2007.
To anyone who had the pleasure of knowing “Uncle Pete” – you knew what it meant to be truly happy. With a constant smile on his face, and endless love in his heart for everyone he met, Peter would go to great lengths to make anyone smile. He lived a full and happy life – whether it was taking RV trips around the country, riding his Harley with his wife, or spoiling his grandchildren – Peter made every second count. We can all rest easy, knowing Peter is free from sickness and pain, and smiling down on us as we cherish the memories we made, and laughs we shared.
Services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, on Wednesday September 21st at 10am.
