Joseph S. Brune, age 85, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in Alvarado, California, he was the son of the late Manuel Sr. and Maria Leonora (da Silva) Brune. Joseph proudly served his country in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts during the Korean Conflict and for several years after. He worked as a maintenance man for The City of New Bedford until his retirement.
He is survived by 6 children: Deborah Anne Rezendes and her fiancé Dave Hughes,Joseph Edward Brune and his former wife Terri Hebert, Gary Joseph Brune and his wife Terri, Cathy Anne Tallman and her husband Randy, Sharon Anne Brune and her significant other Paul Frias, and Terri Anne Silveira and her fiancé Jose Sanchez; 3 siblings: Lionel Brune and his wife Pat, Tina Faria and her husband Bill, and Arlene Amaral and her husband Jack; as well as 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Brune Jr. and Mary Brune.
