Francis G. Lucas, 86

Francis G. “Luke” Lucas, 86, of Freedom, New Hampshire, husband of Jeanette J. (DeSimone) Lucas for 63 years, entered into eternity on Saturday, September 17, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Arlington, Mass. on December 6,1929, he was the loving and devoted son of the late Joseph D. Luca and Bernice (Sadowski) Luca.
He was a graduate of Commerce High School, class of 1949, and proudly served his country in the USAF 1950-1954. He was predeceased by his dear sister, B. Evelyn Hanley.
In addition to his wife, Francis is survived by his loving children; Marian F. of Freedom N.H., Mrs. Paula Bennett (Stephen), Norton Mass, Francis G. Lucas Jr. (Nadine) Santa Cruz, CA, Jeanette Lucas Kazijian (James) Bellingham Mass, and Mark L. Lucas, Esq. (Annmarie) of Cobleskill, NY. He was the cherished Grandpa of Matthew, Ryan and Ashley. Francis also leaves behind sister in law, Lorraine DeSimone-Figieriedo, as well as several loving cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition, Francis leaves behind the family’s devoted canine companion Lady.
Formerly of Brighton and Franklin Ma, Francis was employed as the keeper of athletic fields and grounds at the Tri- County Vocational Technical School in Franklin, MA where he served as a union representative to the State and County Municipal Employees’ Association.
Francis was a Third Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus, Brighton Ma, member of the American Legion Post 0200, and The Retired State and County Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts. He was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend graveside services with military honors on Friday, September 23rd at 10:30 A.M. in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 22nd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
