BOBBIE GRACE ROBBINS STEVENS
Bobbie Grace Robbins Stevens was born August 4, 1945, to Bob E. Robbins and Susan Grace Young Robbins in La Grange, Texas. She passed away September 11, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Bobbie spent her entire childhood on Robinson Creek near West Point, Texas. Bobbie attended school at La Grange ISD from grades one to graduating in 1963 from La Grange High School. After that, she attended South West Texas in San Marcos graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Math. She taught one semester of junior high math in Port Arthur before joining the Internal Revenue Service in Houston in 1967. She retired as Division Chief from the IRS and resided in Katy during her adult life. Coming from a family of educators she tried her talent in teaching but discovered quickly that was not her calling. She did teach numerous classes for the IRS in addition to her normal job assignment.
Bobbie was an active member of the Monument Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, serving as treasury treasurer to Woods Prairie Cemetery Association; and member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association where she served as past president and currently service officer.
Bobbie is survived by first cousin Melba Fay Young, numerous distant cousins, dear friend Rita Hay and her husband Denny and numerous friends.
A private burial was held at Pitman Cemetery on September 17, 2016.
