Franklin, NH----- Roger Everett Leach passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife, “his boys,” , his 5 cats, including his precious “Bear Baldwin” on, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.
During this time at home he enjoyed his immediate family and best friends, Jeff Leupold and Will Morgan.
Roger was born on June 4, 1958 in Manchester, New Hampshire, the third of four children to Everett and Doris (Mongeau) Leach. Roger attended schools in Warren Massachusetts graduating in 1976 from Quaboag High School.
Roger proudly served his country for 21 years as a Master Sargent Green Beret in the Army. He served overseas and traveled the world. He worked many years at Polyclad Laminates and also the last 13 years at Proctor Academy as a Master Electrician.
His favorite place to spend time was at his family camp on Mad River in Campton, New Hampshire. He spent many summers enjoying fishing, hiking and the peacefulness of the area.
Roger is survived by his wife of 14 years, Marylou (Baldwin) Leach, her son, Mark Hebert Jr. and grandchildren, Dylan, Bradley and Amber; two brothers, Martin Urban and wife, Nancy and David Urban and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Jan Laviolette.
Family and friends will honor Roger at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau Paquette Funeral home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10:00AM - 12:00PM using the Carriage House entrance.
A Celebration of his Life to follow Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 12:30 at the Beane Conference Center, 35 Blueberry Lane, Laconia, NH.
Burial will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 12:00 - noon at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Franklin Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 265 Franklin, NH 03235. This is a place he donated to and cared for deeply.
