JANICE (WIRTH) “JAN” HOLDEN, 73, passed away September 15, 2016.
Janice was the daughter of the late Henry Wirth and Leona Raque. She was a retired employee for Churchill Downs where she worked for 30 years. She was in the process of kicking cancers ass when her body gave up. Mom was a fighter until the end. Jan was a feisty woman with a heart of gold who never met a stranger. She loved her family, loved to gamble and loved to laugh; was an amazing wife, mother and Grammy.
Preceding her in death was her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 52 years, William Holden; children, Andrew, Laura Wells (Joe), and Tom Roth; grandchildren, Trey, Daylen, Camden and Katie; siblings, Virginia Youngblood, Martha McKenna, Bernadette Parris, Jeanette Wirth, Henry Wirth (Norma) and Ralph Wirth (Debbie); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road with burial in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 -8 p.m. Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
