Germaine (LeBlanc) Viveiros of Fairhaven, 87 years old, passed peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday September 13, 2016 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Antone Viveiros.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Theophile and Anna (Breau) LeBlanc, she lived in Fairhaven for many years, where she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church
Germaine and her husband Tony were part owners of the Viveiros Brothers Dairy Farm on Sconticut Neck for many years. She enjoyed being a loving homemaker and had a passion for healthy and natural living. She was happiest around her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Germaine enjoyed reminiscing about her early years living in the North End of New Bedford and about the family dairy farm.
Germaine and Tony had three children, Mark A. Viveiros, Carol L. Medeiros, and the late Cheryl Lopes, three grandchildren, Amanda Lopes, Christopher A. Medeiros, and Justin T. Medeiros, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Loretta Rychlinski, Edmee Curry, Lorraine McLaughlin, Norman LeBlanc, and Ernest LeBlanc.
Her family would like to thank the staff of the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for the loving and dedicated care they provided to Germaine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven Monday at 10 AM. At her request, visiting hours are omitted and a private family burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home Activities Fund, 200 Hawthorn St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
