
Louis Pires, 82, of Westport died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at St. Anne's Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of the late Dolores T. (Brisson) Pires, to whom he was married to since 1956, who had just recently passed away.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Isador and Mary J. (Fermino) Pires, he was a longtime resident of Westport. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Pires was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. He was a life member of the VFW Post 5392, Tiverton and a member of the Tin Can Sailors.
Survivors include a son: Gregory Pires and his wife Alyce of Dartmouth; a daughter: Tina LePage of Assonet; 2 grandchildren: Rachel LePage and Andrew LePage and his wife Monique; 2 great grandsons: Ryan & Ross LePage; and many nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Joseph Pires, Raymond Pires, Francisco Pires, Mary Ramos and Deolinda Farias.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, September 19, 2016 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
