Helen (Palingo) Bongiorno, 91, passed away September 13, 2016 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood NH. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Bongiorno.
Helen was born on September 21, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Peter and Dorothy (Calamita) Palingo. She lived in Tewksbury for many years, before moving up to Hampton, NH to be near her son, Peter. While in Tewksbury, Helen was a communicant of St. Williams Church. She was also a homemaker, but most importantly, she was a wife, mother and loving grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Peter Bongiorno & his significant other Joan Shea of Hampton, NH, her grandchildren, Lisa, Tommy Bongiorno & his wife Robyn, & Stacey Ux and her husband Allen; her great grandchildren, A.J., Kierah, Mila, and her brother Joe Palingo, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Bongiorno. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony “Tony” Bongiorno, her siblings, Ralph, Frank, Jimmy, Dominic, Nettie, Lena, & Dorothy.
Her Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey St. Tewksbury, from 10AM- !2 Noon, followed by a service in the funeral home at Noon. Burial will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorial Contribution may be made in Helen’s name to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
