Obituary

Lois A. Kelly (Putnam), beloved wife of Joseph T. Kelly, and cherished sister “sissy” of the late Joseph Putnam. Adored mother of Sheila and her husband Brian Lynch of Milton, Jeanne and her husband Dana Brown of West Roxbury, Paul and his wife Regina Kelly of Andover, Moira and her husband Barry O’Brien of Westwood and Peter Kelly of New York City. Beloved grandmother (Lolo) to Devin and his wife Catherine, Myles, James, Shamus, Colin, Kristina, Terence, Michael, Nina, Fiona and Quinn. Beloved sister in-law of Sister Barbara Kelly Sisters of Charity of Halifax. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews who were dear to her.
Starting her life in Chicago, she lived in many cities across the country before arriving in Cambridge, MA. She was a graduate of the inaugural class of Matignon High School along with her lifelong friend Lucille. She used her professional secretarial skills at the Massachusetts State House, Confederation Life and the Archdiocese of Boston. Raising her family in West Roxbury and summering in Ogunquit, Maine, her next travel adventure was always in the planning. Lois will be remembered for her unbridled love of “ole blue eyes” and singing a-long to Broadway show tunes. She never missed an opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends. A true friend who could always be counted on to provide wise counsel, etiquette advice and an excellent fashion sense. She never missed her grandchildren’s school productions, sports and dance events, applauding enthusiastically and providing special treats .
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury on Saturday, September 17, at 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
