Obituary

Alfred N. Watier, 88, formerly of Muron Ave. Bellingham died Monday August 29, 2016 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Lucille T. (Lamoureux) Waiter who passed away in 2010.
Born and raised in Pawtucket he was a son of the late Napoleon and Helen (Beauchemin) Watier. He lived in Woonsocket for several years and was a resident of Bellingham for almost 60 years.
He attended Rhode Island School of Design for drafting and machine design.
Mr. Watier was the owner and operator of ANL (Alfred & Lucille) Industries machine shop in Bellingham. In his younger years he worked as a carpenter, dairy and ice man and also at Ram Safety Products and Olson Medical Products.
Fred was a member of the Franco-American Club, enjoyed engaging in crossword puzzles and assisted with leadership responsibilities with the Boy Scouts.
Family and his work were at the center of Fred’s life. He was a self-taught and self-reliant man and passed these virtues along to his family.
He is survived by a son Alfred M. Watier, and his wife Mary Claire, of North Smithfield. He was the father of the late Ronald, Michael and Robert Watier and brother the late Maurice “Marty” Watier. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren and another 2 on the way.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in St Theresa’s Church, Rathbun St. Blackstone. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Friendly Home Activities Fund, 303 Rhodes Ave. Woonsocket, RI. 02895. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
