She was the wife of the late Roland Auger and Normand Vallee Sr. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leandre and Laura (Gignac) Carriere. Mrs Vallee retired from the Medical Records Department of the former Woonsocket Hospital. She was a former member of the Disabled American Gabrielle F. Auger Vallee 96, died September 10, 2016 at St. Antoine Residence. Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs Vallee cherished her Catholic Faith and was a communicant of Precious Blood Church and the former St. Ann’s Church. Her quick wit and sense of humor provided the gift of laughter to those who knew her. One of her priceless devotions was to pray daily for all her family and friends.
She is survived by a son Camille Auger and his wife Lucille of Burrillville, three stepsons, Ralph Vallee and his wife Linda of N. Smithfield, Dennis Vallee and his wife Christine of Burrillville, and David Vallee of Woonsocket, and a stepdaughter Patricia O’Connor of Virginia. She also leaves one grandson Steven Auger and his wife Dacia, four great-grandchildren, several step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a stepson Normand Vallee Jr. and siblings Fleurette Blanchard, Jeanne Genereux, Roland, Laurent, Leo, Albert, Raymond and Viateur Carriere.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Antoine Chapel, 10 Rhodes Ave., N. Smithfield. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket. Visiting Hours are Thursday 5-7 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave. N. Smithfield, RI 02896, where she received loving care.
