Maria Addolarata "Dora" Ricci of Medford died on Monday, September 12, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Sulmona, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Ruggiero and Loreta Ricci. Maria came to the U.S. in 1970, settling first in Boston's North End before moving to Medford in 1983.
Maria was the beloved wife of the late Pietro Ricci, and the devoted mother of Guerriero Ricci and his wife Rina of Medford, Mario Ricci and his wife Cathy of Malden, Michael Ricci and his wife Brenda of Stoneham, Luciano Ricci of Andover and his former wife Antonietta, and Roger Ricci of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Peter, Nikita, Daniela, Nico and Fabio, the sister of Rosa Gelsomini and her late husband Biagio of Sulmona, Italy, Flora DiMascio and her husband Americo of Providence, RI, and Maria DiCenso and her late husband Ernesto of Braintree, and sister-in-law of Angela Ricci and her late husband Ettore of Sulmona, Italy. Maria is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, September 16 at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, September 15, from 4 through 8PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
