WEBSTER –Anthony J. Zisk, 89, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at home after an illness
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Phyllis A. (Samko) Zisk; a son, Michael Zisk and his wife Dee of Griswold, CT; 4 stepchildren, Chris Kelly and her husband Dan, and Deborah McKay and her husband Rob, all of Valrico, FL, Steven Dufault of Wareham, MA and Robert Dufault and his wife Lisa of Auburn, MA; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
He was born and raised in Dudley, the youngest child of John and Mary (Grzeszczyk) Zisk. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1944. He lived in Auburn for several years before returning to Webster in 1983.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Zisk’s first worked as the manager at A & P markets in Worcester, Natick and West Boylston. He then managed several Sweet Life wholesale grocery businesses until he retired in 1989. In his retirement, he was a custodian for 17 years in Webster public schools.
He was an avid golfer and a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
The funeral will be held Saturday, September 24, with a service at 11:00 AM in Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, with the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council providing military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 Saturday, September 24, prior to the service. Donations in his name may be made to either Central Mass.
